Work is well underway at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Chilled Water Plant. The picture below shows the large step footing system in place for the preparation of a wall pour. These footings step the foundation wall down approximately 18 feet below grade.
Fowler & Hammer, Inc. Site Superintendent, Sam Jaekel decided to pre-build the foundation forms and install them using a crane rather than build them in place. This improved the efficiency of the installation in the challenging steep, sandy soil conditions.
